The Rotary movement initiated the aim of eradicating Polio throughout the world.
At a later stage the WHO joined the campaign.
Rotary is still very active in the few areas that Polio still persists.
Through Rotary and WHO millions are still vaccinated every year especially children.
In 2008 The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded Rotary International
$100,000,000 towards the eradication of Polio throughout the World.
This is contingent on Rotary International matching this amount over three years
